EIGHTH ANNUAL PACIFIC REGIONAL HOSTED BY THE SONOMA COUNTY FALCONS FOR FUN

The Eighth Annual Pacific Regional Meet was held in Santa Rosa, California, on June 19-20, 1998. The Meet was hosted by the Sonoma County Falcons for Fun (SCFF).

This was first Regional planned and hosted by the SCFF Chapter. The event was held at the Coddingtown Mall and adjacent Los Robles Lodge.

The annual event began Friday afternoon (June 19) with early registrations. Later that evening, about 35 Falcons and 1 Comet cruised to the Stony Point Grill in Santa Rosa.

(Getting ready to leave for the Cruise on Friday night)

The Falcons dominated the restaurant parking lot while photos were taken and nice prizes were raffled. Cruisers were treated to wonderful dinners at the restaurant. Dinner was served on the patio and old friends were re-acquainted, and new friendships were made.

(The food and company were great at the Stony Point Grill Restaurant)

The Swap Meet began early Saturday morning. There were plenty of choices available for those looking for special parts for their Falcons.

(There were plenty of good parts and cars to be found at the swap area.)

The show began in earnest later that morning. Approximately 75 cars were entered into the show. Vehicles were represented in every class. As announced at the Banquet later Saturday night, awards were presented to owners in several classes.

(The 1998 Pacific FCA Regional was held at Coddingtown Mall in Santa Rosa, California on June 20.)

Club members were thankful that FCA President Steve Springer could attend the event. This is the second year in a row that Steve has joined us for the Pacific Regional. Many people and club members had an opportunity to meet and talk with Steve.

Because the event was held at Coddingtown shopping mall, many non-Falcon owners not affiliated with western Chapters attended the show. The show increased the recognition and respect for the Ford Falcon, the Sonoma County Chapter, and the Falcon Club of America.

Raffles were held throughout the day, and many nice prizes were given away. A portion of the proceeds were donated to Canine Companions. One very special prize was given away at the Banquet--a brand new reproduction Sprint Tach which was donated by Dearborn Classics.

(Was my raffle number called?)

By all accounts, the show was a success. The River City Chapter will host next year’s Regional event.
