MORE REGIONAL MEET PICTURES

The 9th annual FCA Pacific Regional event was held in Sacramento on June 11-12. For the first time ever, the annual event was held at the Radisson Hotel located on the Garden Highway near downtown Sacramento. Approximately 85 Falcons (and a few Comets) were registered for the Show and a whole lot of fun was had by their lucky owners!

It was a beautiful day for a Falcon Show!

Early registration for the show began on Friday, June 11th. With goodie bags properly stuffed, registrants gathered for the traditional Friday Night Cruise. This year, a convoy of approximately 35 Falcons and Comets traversed the busy streets of Downtown Sacramento and Old Town Sacramento. After a couple of loops of Old Town, the group headed to a nearby mall where a variety of restaurants were available as choices for dinner. Most of the group opted for burgers and fries at the In and Out. After dinner, the cruisers returned to the hotel for more Falcon fellowship before retiring for the night.

Saturday morning the Swap Meet began early. Swappers and Vendors were set-up in two separate areas. A variety of new and used parts were available for Falcons and Comets. Show registration also began early Saturday morning and it quickly became apparent that parking spaces would become a premium due to the number of participants (approximately 25) that registered the day of the show. However, spaces were made available for all of the cars and the day's festivities began at about 10:00 am Saturday morning.

The weather for the event was beautiful. There were sunny skies during the day, and cooling breezes at night. When the sun and heat may have been a bit too much for some, the nearby air conditioned hospitality room was within close proximity for rest and refreshments.

There were raffle prizes galore this year! Raffle prizes were available the night of the cruise, all day during the show on Saturday, and at the Banquet on Saturday night. The River City Chapter came through with some nice prices, including the grand finale gift certificate worth over $300 that was donated by Falcon Enterprises. The Sonoma County Chapter also came through with some nice raffle prizes--including a Flowmaster dual exhaust sytem. Bill Johns and Dan Stephens from the Sonoma Chapter were able to obtain some nice prizes from local Sonoma County businesses. A listing of the local companies that contributed raffle prizes to the 1999 FCA Pacific Regional is included in this month's SCFF Newsletter.

On Saturday night, the awards banquet began at 7:00 pm. Rosie Wilson (River City Chapter President) presided over the evening's award ceremony. Steve Springer (FCA President) and his wife Carol attended the Regional event, and Steve addressed the group at the banquet. It was an honor to have Steve and Carol attend the premiere west coast Falcon event.

Included on this page are links to photographs of the class winners, and all of the beautiful Falcons that were registered in the show. A special thanks is in order to Paul and Kathy Jechura for working so hard and making these beautiful photos available for all of us to enjoy.  Also, thanks to John Guerini for his efforts in the posting the photos to the web page--lots of work!  The photos are truly a resource for those interested in Falcons, as almost every model is represented on these pages.

The River City Chapter is congratulated on a job WELL DONE! We are looking forward to the FCA National Event that will be held at the same location next year. See ya there!
