THE SONOMA COUNTY FALCONS FOR FUN CHAPTER

1965 FORD FALCON STATION WAGON
Eduardo Doren--Santiago de Chile

Eduardo Doren from Chile recently contacted the Sonoma Falcons website.  He is the proud owner of this 1965 Ford Falcon Wagon.

Note the interesting side marker on the front fender.

The Falcon has been in his family’s possession for 22 years. It has a V-8 (289 ci) engine, three speed manual transmission, and manual steering. Eduardo reports that the Falcon will accelerate from 0-100 Km per hour (that’s kilometers) in 8.9 seconds. 100 kilometers equals 62.15 miles per hour. This bird is fairly quick, and Eduardo wishes he had a 4-speed transmission and disc brakes.

All cars must go through rigorous technical inspections in Chile, and the Falcon has always passed with flying colors. The Falcon could use a paint job, and a re-spray is planned in the not to distant future.

Eduardo indicates this Falcon is in tip-top shape.

Eduardo previously owned a 1965 Sprint Hardtop. He reluctantly had to sale the Sprint which came with a 4-speed and 289 motor. It was much faster than his Wagon.

Eduardo reports that Falcons are somewhat rare in Chile. He indicates that Falcons made from 1960-1965 were imported into Chile. However, the 1966-1970 Falcons were assembled in his country. Interestingly, he reports that the 1966-1969 models were only equipped with 6 cylinder motors, but the much coveted 1970 model was equipped with a V-8 motor.
