THE SONOMA COUNTY FALCONS FOR FUN
CHAPTER
KENNY LIKINS' 62
TUDOR SEDAN
Story and Photo by Kenny Likins,
4/05

I was living in Santa Rosa
for two years and was so glad to discover SCFF. I currently live in Seattle but continue
to renew my annual membership. I enjoy getting the monthly newsletters and supporting the
club even though I can't participate in the meetings or local activities. I've had a great
time at the last two regionals in 2001 (Santa Rosa) and 2002 (Bakersfield) and managed to
get 2nd place at both for my daily driver. This photo is from the Regionals in
Bakersfield. I look forward to coming down for the 2005 Nationals and seeing all of the
great SCFF people again.
I met my wife Jessica in Seattle and give all (or at least most) of the credit of meeting
her to my Falcon. I had pulled into a burger joint to grab a quick lunch while I sat in
the car and Jessica pulled up in her truck and stopped in the middle of the driveway right
behind me. She got out, ran (or hopped...she was in a leg cast at the time from a twisted
ankle) and started telling me about her garage sale she was having and all of the
"cool, vintage, kitschy stuff" she was selling. It was just a few blocks away so
I decided to stop by and see what she had.
I ended up buying a nice, leather cover transistor radio and as I was about to go, I finally noticed a wrecked `62 fordor deluxe sitting in the nearby driveway. I went back to ask about it and found out it was hers and she had wrecked it and sold it to someone who wanted the drive train and sold the rest to get crushed. I gave Jessica my address card and told her I was interested in pulling off some other parts before it got towed away.
We got in touch later
and I removed the deluxe trim (later sold it on eBay) and also got the window washer bag
and bracket that I now have installed on mine as well as a few other things. We got to
know each other, fell in love and got married a year later after moving down to Santa
Rosa. We enjoy cruising in the Falcon and it will always be a part of our family.
