THE SONOMA COUNTY FALCONS FOR FUN CHAPTER

TWAS THE SEASON FOR GOODNESS

by Al Aiello

On December 13th, 1998, the Sonoma County Falcons for Fun (SCFF) Chapter had their annual Holiday Cruise. This year, members cruised on out to Rob's Rib Shack on Arnold Road in Sonoma.

As is often the case mid-December, the weather can be a bit unpredictable. This year’s cruise date was no exception. Thankfully, good weather held until we finished our delicious meal at Rob’s.

The purpose for the Holiday Cruise was two-fold. Of course we wanted to have some fun, but we also want to give to the local community. We had our share of fun during the cruise and lunch. Afterwards, some SCFF volunteers delivered our gifts to the children of some local families in need of some holiday goodwill.

As reported in our last newsletter, Nancy Cozine (SCFF Treasurer) organized the gift-toy drive. Our Chapter membership came through with plenty of gifts for some local kids.

The gifts went a long way to bring some smiles to the faces of deserving children.

In addition to the gifts given to local children, the SCFF Chapter also made some charitable contributions to some worthwhile organizations this past holiday season. The SCFF Chapter is proud to announce that the following donations have been made from our treasury:

  • $200 to the Canines for Companions
  • $200 to the Salvation Army
  • $200 to the Red Cross

The amounts and the charitable organizations were approved by motion at the November Chapter meeting. The SCFF membership is thankful for its ability to give to worthwhile organizations in the local community.
