My father was a journey man mechanic when I was growing up. I spent most of my childhood around the various cars he owned, dreaming of the day when I could drive them. When I was old enough, I finally got my own. My tastes have varied over the years, but my first "project" was a 64 Valiant Convertible. It was a rust bucket, but it did have a factory 4 speed!. I learned a lot of lessons with that car, mostly about my abilities to fix a car, and the power of sea air on sheet metal! I sold that car for about a quarter of what I paid. Even though my wallet was still stinging, I knew I wanted to have another classic car.In August of 2003 I went to Hot August Nights in Nevada. I went mainly for the purpose of finding the car I wanted next, not necessarily at that show, but I knew you could see just about everything there. Around the second day I was paying attention to the Rancheros. Initially I was leaning towards the 70 because of the Cobra Jet option. Eventually my wife and I stumbled onto a baby blue 63. This was the car for me. I fell in love with the little truck-car and its "jet-age" stylings. I started my search for one the day I got home. It took a few months to find the right one but eventually I found a very original 1962.
I ran into some GGFCA members (Alex, Mel and Dave) at the Pacific Dream Machines show in 2005. I was impressed by the knowledge and how friendly they were. I joined the club in July 05. I try to attend most of the shows throughout the year, as well as the club meetings. I am having a great time as a GGFC member so far, and I am still amazed by the amount of Falcon knowledge everyone has!
I have a background in graphic design, but I make my money as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer. I live in San Mateo with my wife Jessica and 2 non-goggle wearing dogs. I am looking forward to many years of Falcon friends and activities!
